The Season of Advent is a time when we look backwards at Israel's expectation of the Messiah, and forwards to the ultimate triumph of Jesus. During Advent we will hear the message of judgement and the reign of Christ so that as we beginning the liturgical year and celebrate the birth of the Christ child at Christmas, we do so in the full knowledge that it really only make sense when we understand it from a post-Easter perspective.Advent 1 Sunday 2 Dec

Advent is a time for worship and preparation for the birth of Christ. You aren't supposed to be preparing yourself for the amount of gifts you are going to be getting.
